JULIE DAVIS FARROW
CEO AND FOUNDER
Julie Davis Farrow started Plantscapers in 1981 while she pursued her college degree in interior design, horticulture, and business. Today, she serves the company as Founder and CEO and is instrumental in the direction, culture, and leadership of the organization. Julie also serves as a Design Consultant, working alongside our many clients in making their dream interiors a reality.
Julie specializes in creative and innovative designs utilizing “green products” and the finest plants from the best growers. Julie is an active member of Green Plants for Green Buildings, AmericanHort, and The National Association of Landscape Professionals. Additionally, Julie was a founding member of Pinnacle V, an international peer group of plantscape professionals who share best practices and progressive business strategies. She is a registered speaker trained by AIA to present “Authentically Green Interiors: Optimizing Nature’s Design.”
Julie finds passion in her clients’ reactions once a job has been installed. She enjoys working together as a team with the design community to complete their work with her “green” designs.
You find Julie reading a good book and a compassionate writer in her spare time, but she loves a good workout, playing pickleball, and heading to the river for some water skiing. Family and friends are true to her heart. Spending time with her husband, Mark, and two children, Courtney and Trevor. The twinkle in her eye is her beautiful grandsons: Dakarie and Hendrix.
Mark D. FARROW
In 1983, Mark Farrow was working for a local moving company. At the time, Julie and Mark were friends, and Julie needed some "braun" to lift some plants on an install. She asked for help. After completing the job, Mark found the nearest payphone, called his boss at the moving company, quit his job, and joined Plantscapers. The rest was history, as Mark now serves as our COO.
Mark's day-to-day responsibilities include managing the business's overall operations, including our installation and holiday departments, warehouse inventory, and green wall installations, and being a strong contributor to employee morale and training. In addition, he is the point person on our team that ensures that we have a well-oiled and successful operational structure.
On weekends, Mark can play tennis, golf, or watch any sporting event, including his favorite team, the Baltimore Ravens. One of his biggest joys is spending time with his grandson Dakarie.
Jason Cupp and Julie Farrow met at an industry event many years ago in Las Vegas, and they began regular conversations about marketing and sales. With Jason’s background as a business owner, combined with his knowledge and education in accounting and financial metrics, staff development, leadership, as well as team-building, and hiring, Jason joined Plantscapers as CFO. His role involves many diverse facets, including financial reporting, sales forecasting, budgeting, human resources, team building, as well as developing relationships to execute the Plantscapers growth plan successfully.
Jason is a long-standing member and Past President of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). He has been Landscape Industry Certified since 2001. Jason has been Kolbe Certified for almost 13 years, using that knowledge to build dynamic and efficient teams all over North America. He recently won the prestigious "Kolbe Professional Award" in 2017.
Jason, a self-described coffee and Apple computer addict, enjoys photography, traveling, reading, the beach, and connecting with his many friends and family worldwide when not busy working at his laptop or in the office.
Jen has been showing her talents at Plantscapers for a few years and was recently promoted to Operations Manager. She brings to the table her 14 years of experience working in the Interior Design Community where she managed a showroom, was an Office Manager and worked in Purchasing, Accounting, and Sales. Jen also has a keen eye for design. She currently runs the operation department which consists of Purchasing, Install & Warehouse Management, and has a great team along her side which she manages.
Jen has been married for over 20 years and has 2 beautiful daughters. In her free time, she loves gardening, long walk on the beach, soccer, pickleball as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Tani Armstrong has been on the Plantscapers team since 2014 as our Office Manager. Tani's focus on the client experience from an administrative standpoint is the nucleus of our culture, and clients and vendors constantly interact with her.
With Tani's lifelong experience in accounting, human resources, and employment staffing, she works closely with other members of the Management Team for precise and timely information.
Tani has been married to her husband for over 25 years, and they share a passion for traveling and spending time with their friends, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Luis Alvarez has over 10 years of experience in Account Management in the clothing industry. He enjoys forming the relationships and bonds that make working with Plantscapers a unique experience. Doesn’t hesitate to go the extra mile and make your experience with Plantscapers an enjoyable one.
Always looking for his next outdoor experience he has constantly been surrounded by trees and plants and never hesitate to stop and admire nature's beauty. This sets the standard for when he goes out to quality control our accounts to ensure they are looking as good as they do in their natural element.
Luis also enjoys traveling and immersing himself in new cultures and perspectives and always keeps an eye out for the next good wave coming his way.
