February is the month where the heart sings sweetly and sweeps gracefully on wings of love. And a flower of grace reaches out to shower its presence with vibrant waxy leaves. We call the flowering plant, Anthurium. Their heart-shaped leaves remind us love is everywhere.
Also known as Flamingo Flower, this beautiful tropical plant had risen out of the North American tropics with long stalks of brilliant colors, some in purples, reds, and others in pinks. Had Romeo seen such flowers, he surely would have given them to his Juliet on a moonlit night while singing his devotion to her.
Like love, Anthuriums need light, bright sunlit days to send stalks streaming towards heaven with blooms to melt the heart. And similar to unreturned love, Anthuriums whose flowers have faded and left to hang, must be clipped away for new ones to blossom, bringing colorful beauties flaming in innocence and grace for all to see.
Leave an Anthurium waiting on a doorstep of a loved one. Seek out a friend with hands offering these blossoms. Say I love you from your heart’s balcony, tossing Anthuriums into a beloved’s seat of happiness.
Always take heart wherever you go. And remember it all happens from within yourself.
