President’s Message:
Mark and Julie Farrow, Owners of Plantscapers, along with Design Consultant Susi Tomich, were honored with two Gold and one Silver Award at the International Plantscape Awards Gala in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This prestigious event is the largest in our industry, bringing together interiorscapers from all 50 states and 40 countries to showcase their finest work. Winning is a true honor, as the judging panel consists of our industry peers.
We also attended the 52nd annual TPIE (Tropical Plant International Expo) at the Broward County Convention Center. TPIE featured a series of educational workshops offering valuable insights into everything from biophilic design to HR best practices. Connecting with like-minded professionals who share similar challenges and goals was truly inspiring. Staying informed and evolving in our industry is essential—our takeaways were invaluable.
This premier trade show featured hundreds of exhibitors, showcasing the latest trends, plants, decorative containers, and supplies. With over 8,000 vendors, it was the perfect opportunity to discover new varieties and innovations for the coming year. We reconnected with longtime colleagues and met new partners, many of whom we’re excited to feature in our showroom and offer to our clients.
Bradbury Estates Residence – Silver Award (Best Design)
Julie received a Silver Award for the Bradbury Estates project, a five-acre estate featuring a curated mix of elegant replica and live plants. Replica plants were strategically placed in low-light areas, while high-end vessels and custom plant designs complemented the home’s luxurious aesthetic. This project, a collaboration with Jennifer Bevan Interiors, encompassed multiple areas, including the main house, speakeasy bar, guest house, conservatory, barn, hockey arena, and private garage. It exemplifies how thoughtful plant placement enhances grandeur and transforms a space into a serene sanctuary.
Newport Coast Residence – Gold Award (Best Design)
Susi was awarded Gold for her work on the Newport Coast residence, where live and replica plants, along with a living wall, seamlessly integrated nature into the home’s architecture. Carefully selected containers and sculptural plant elements enhanced both form and function. Tomich collaborated with Fltwrkshp Studio to create a unique, cohesive design throughout the 11,613-square-foot residence.
BKM OfficeWorks Showroom – Gold Award (Replica, Silk & Preserved)
Julie also received Gold for the BKM OfficeWorks showroom in San Diego. As BKM’s first pop-up showroom, the space needed to showcase biophilia’s impact in a commercial setting while hosting clients daily. The design featured high-end replica plants, including a bold Red Bird of Paradise in striking red containers, strategically placed alongside furniture pieces. The result was a sophisticated, functional space that brought the calming presence of nature indoors.
Looking Ahead A huge congratulations to the entire Plantscapers team! These achievements are a testament to our professionalism, creativity, and collaboration. We can’t wait to see what we create in 2025!

Plant Of The Month: Variegated money tree
The Variegated Money Tree (Pachira aquatica ‘Variegata’) is a rare variant of the traditional Money Tree, distinguished by its marbled green, cream, and yellow foliage. Native to Central and South America, it thrives in bright, indirect light and requires well-draining soil. While symbolizing prosperity in feng shui, its unique variegation makes it especially sought after. With a resilient nature and braided trunk, it’s both an ornamental and practical choice for indoor spaces. Due to its rarity, it can be harder to find, but its striking appearance and ease of care make it a prized addition for collectors. Plantscapers is excited to announce that the Variegated Money Tree will be available this Spring!
